A man has been arrested and the National Police Air Service helicopter was dispatched to the base. The incident reportedly started at the bases main gate.
Police describe the event as a significant incident.

Had a lot of fun in that club in the early 70’s. At that time both the NCO and Officers Clubs were “off base.” Lots of women standing outside the entrance calling out “sign me in GI, sign me in.”

A closer approximation is that in the early 1990s USAF senior leadership was hijacked by the fighter pilots: less mature, shorter attention span, endless boundary issues, ethically shaky, competition junkies, monumental egoes. Useless as team players.
They seize control and push everyone else around on a whim, driving the organization to strange places and into indefensible contradictions. Convinced they’re the center of the universe.
