Part of what made the cost double was that the USA has lost the ability to construct this type of plant. Not to mention that regs changed in mid-construction.
My son-in-law is working on this project and he said it’s bad. And getting worse.
When I worked up in Massachusetts I knew a lot of electricians who worked on the Seabrook nuclear power plant. One of them told me the procedure for drilling a simple hole. It took 3 days and 3 different inspectors to do a 10-second job.
