The only people who DON'T know about this are US civilians, who can consider it of only academic interest. The Russians and Chinese, Brits, Israelis and French have tracked development for years, and stolen anything they need to duplicate it, long since.
Eventually, it will be buried in the hood of your car, (If we are still allowed to drive.), to spot deer and stalled trucks on dark roads.
There is no reason to get your knickers in a knot...

Bummer. Our enemies need to find out about it the hard way.

Powering the unit will require a large generator - for now.In the good old days, they just put nuclear reactors on planes. That would provide plenty of power.

Old news. I remember back in the 60’s they were selling x-ray glasses that could see through clothes. My dad wouldn’t let me buy them...

Next up would be LHF (Ludicrously High Frequency). And after that would be AYEKMT*S*HF, which stands for Are You Effing Kidding Me, That's *STUPID* High Frequency, which allows you to see God.

Kind of old news really. Multispectral vision technology was discussed publicly at last 6 years ago. A video leaked out about 10 years ago using it for commercial aircraft. The ability to see through all weather and land a plane was nothing short of amazing. The vision was near daytime in clarity.

“Next up would be LHF (Ludicrously High Frequency).”
The problem with LHF is that when you see thru everything, there is nothing left to see. Now, if they could build a radar that would allow liberals to see thru lying politicians and the news media...

The problem with LHF is that when you see thru everything, there is nothing left to see. What happened to those spectacles that they used to sell in the back of men's magazines that allowed you to see through women's clothes? I looked all over and I can't find my pair.
LHF may be old technology.

I remember back in the 60s they were selling x-ray glasses that could see through clothes.True story: Iraqis were convinced that our ballistic sunglasses were also x-ray capable and we could look through clothes to spot hidden weapons.
We didn't disabuse them of that notion.

I agree with you, however I would venture to guess or say that by now our armed forces have things which are probably even much further advanced than what they divulged to the public, what most of us most likely would consider to be science fiction. Many years ago our family had a friend who worked for some governmental research place, a place I cannot recall and at that time told us “If I could tell you what we are working on you probably think I am crazy and you probably may see or hear about it ten or twenty years from now, but this is about all I can and are allowed to say” So, what ever we may be hearing are just some appetizers of some even more sophisticated devices as well as applications.
