The U.S. expects the Western Wall in Jerusalem to be part of Israel, but specific boundaries are subject to final status negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority (PA), a senior administration official said Friday.
“We cannot envision any situation under which the Western Wall would not be a part of Israel. But as the President said, the specific boundaries of sovereignty of Israel are going to be part of the final status agreement,” the official told Israeli public broadcaster Kann.
The official also noted that U.S. Vice President Mike Pence’s visit to the Western Wall as part of his upcoming trip to Israel will be an official visit and not a private one. …

Is this a joke? So what part of Mecca will belong to Muslims? Does half the “Kaaba” belong to the Jews? Those questions are no more ridiculous than ANY debate about the only remaining wall of the Jewish Temple, the holiest land to Jews.
Not only the Western Wall, but the whole Temple Mount, and East Jerusalem are part of Israel, no matter what some politicians say. I have it on higher authority.

Oh Whoopieee! ( sarc). The old wall isn’t going anywhere and neither is Jerusalem, Israel. So it will logically remain in Israel It sure doesn’t take any genius in washDC to make a statement like the wall isn’t gonna fly out of Israel. Maybe to timbucktu? Shanghai? Chattanooga?
We’re going again in May, so it will be interesting to see whether tensions have changed from 2012.
Israel will decide, as it always has.

No; they’re usually on the right. They’re reporting on what some unnamed “senior administration official” claimed Trump said, not what Trump himself actually said. So who knows if this is another Obama holdover.
Also, this is second-hand from Kan, who is a state media outlet that came into being three years ago.
UNR 181 already set the borders. These remain the only legal recognized boundaries.
