The Democrats are feeling ruff, tuff and ready for the coming battle, and why shouldnt they? They proved in Alabama that with a little help from the other side, a Democrat can still defeat a child molester.
All they need now, going into the midterm congressional elections, are more child molesters.
The victory Tuesday by the Democrat Doug Jones to represent that heavily conservative state [of Alabama] in the Senate, The Washington Post breathlessly assures its constituency, was the latest example in a string of elections this year that Democratic leaders think represent a growing backlash against Donald Trump and a potential wave for 2018.
The Posts man apparently got off the train in the wrong town, because most of that string of elections, in Kansas, Montana, Georgia and other places, were won by Republicans. When the wave expected by Democrats becomes real will be time enough to order limousines for Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer. Only then will it be no more Uber and Lyft to get these worthies to a watering hole.
Campaign consultants and other hangers-on are already devising strategies to troll for clients and prospective candidates. I worry that the Senate is in play, Alex Conant of Firehouse Strategies, one of the authors of the Marco Rubio campaign last year, told Politico, the capital political daily, on the morning after Alabama. I didnt think that before yesterday.

Every Republican nominee better get ready to relive their 6th grade dance or first date at the movies. Dems will leave no stone unturned.
No problem, they’ll accuse every opponent of molesting children.
Just watch.
It’s not the truth that matters, it’s the severity of the accusations, and how loudly they are made.
This is the democrat position on evidence:
The seriousness of the charge mandates that we investigate this.
Even though there is no evidence, the seriousness of the charge is what matters.
-- Tom Foley (1929-2013) former Democrat Speaker Of The House
I’m not sure how much more mileage the left is going to get out of the charge as long as the accused give categorical denials.
Roy Moore is not a child molester.
The Ministry of Propaganda made that up.
Wesley Pruden, God will strike you for that damned lie.
The Ministry of Propaganda made that up.
I initially resisted considering the possibility that that yearbook (admittedly forged, at least in the sense that it was modified after allegedly signed by Moore) was actually signed Ray rather Roy. But TigerClaws pointed out what was obvious when I first saw the inscription: that it is clunkily worded. TC pointed out that if you read the signature as Ray rather than Roy, the inscription forms a rhyme and makes perfect sense viewed as such. Not saying that this guy Ray is the second coming of Walt Whitman, but . . .Recognize that, and I admit that if soy made more sense than say at the end of the first line, one would probably read it in the former sense without thinking, just as easily as you make the signature of the inscription Roy if you think that is what it should be.
IOW, that womans proof looks like a $3 bill.
And a child molester is despised in part because no one has any confidence in the likelihood of change. And yet the claim seems to have been that Moore was creepy in his choice of romantic interest allegedly in post-pubescent girls. An interest which stopped on a dime when he got married (yes, to a much younger woman, but a woman nonetheless).
The fact that my mothers mother married at 16 - to a widower who had lost his wife and two of his three children to disease, hence must have been quite a bit older - colors my reaction to the idea that a 30 yo might marry a teen. If Grandmother married at 16, was she courted at age 15? My understanding is that women marry men who can support a family, and men marry pretty women who can handle domestic responsibilities. And I was a nodding acquaintance with one girl, call her that, who at age 14 would on appearance grounds not have been at all out of place in a beauty contest (but who was not nearly the same looker only a couple of years later).
I also can relate in the sense that I didnt marry until I was just short of 30 - and I was thrilled to find my bride, who at my age was much too attractive and nice to still have been available.
Somehow they forget about Joe.
It is one of the most intimate feelings. Something Biden should not be doing to little girls.
Another thing - he gave one of the little girls he man-handled his phone number. He carries two cell phones with him. One his wife has the number to and the other he gives to all his girlfriends. Which number did he give to that little girl?
I just can’t read the rest of this article, calling Moore a child molester. The facts don’t bear that out and they know it.
Now THAT I agree with. The Democrats will take their strategy back from McConnell-Rove, who used it so effectively against Moore.
Yes, proven accurate in Alabama. Forget about evidence.
