Conventional wisdom is that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is asleep at the wheel – from recusing himself unnecessarily from the Trump-Russia collusion investigation to doing nothing about the politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice. He also gave free rein to his deputy A.G., Rod Rosenstein, who is in turn allowing Special Counsel Robert Mueller unlimited time, money, and jurisdiction to investigate President Trump's entire life.

The DOJ’s credibility is at stake and highly dependent upon the DOJ’s IOG report on its investigation into how the FBI handled the Clinton e-mail investigation which is due “early next year. It, of course, will also depend on how the DOJ acts upon the reports and its recommendations. The IOG’s investigation into this matter was announced in January, 2017, almost a year ago.
The Inspector General is Michael E. Horowitz (J.D. from Harvard Law School) who began his stint in 2012, so I presume he was an appointee of the Obama Administration. So I have a hard time getting enthusiastic. Nevertheless, all the DOJ/FBI leaders who have testified in public Congressional hearings, although not providing any significant information, have tried to reassure Congress that the IOG’s investigation will be complete and will include recommendations regarding who, if anyone, should be prosecuted, and for what reasons.
To me, “early next year” is January 2018, maybe February if you really want to stretch it...just around the corner in old folks’ time...

Trump has to tolerate it. Congress is terribly corrupt, and the Clintons, along with all the other deep staters, have their FBI files. They cannot afford to have their corruption revealed to the american people, so tbey have threatened Trump with impeachment if he fires Mueller and/or Sessions.
