Bullying is a part of the human condition. Always has been, always will.

There is no way to stop it, you can only lessen the frequency and severity. It is a part of “coming of age”.

Part of it is examples set by their parents, others is the natural desire to see where one stands in the social structure.

I disagree.

Bullying shows up in group situations where there is no escape open to the victim, for example, prison and children in compulsory-attendance schools.

In adult life, people move, find a new job, file felony charges, or win millions in lawsuits.

Bullying is like any kind of crime--we can't stop it, but that doesn't mean we should just throw our hands up and not even try.
