Jones will just be a puppet for the Schumer/Pelosi puppeteers club.

He'll be voting according to how the puppeteers pull his strings. And that will mean that he's another vote against the Trump agenda. But that agenda will be helped greatly in 2018, when democrats will have 25 senate seats to defend to the republicans' 8. My guesstimate is that republicans will "win" at least 15 of those senate seats in contention, meaning that Trump will have an easier time getting his agenda passed.
