That would involve search warrants, investigations, subpoenas, and arrests. Those are things that seem to be missing in this bizarre spy novel.

Getting legal access to the info, info which could be used in a court of law, would require the use of a warrant.

For public information purposes all that’s required is for someone in the know to spill his/her/their guts.

FWIW, while I would dearly love to see people incarcerated for this, I’ll happily settle for them being fired/removed from power.
