I used the FR search engine using several key words. Nothing came up except a story that was posted in 2015 with a similar title but a different incident.
If I had known it was already posted I wouln’t have posted it. But now seeing how many never even knew about it....I’m glad I did!
I am glad you posted. As far as I can tell it was not discussed on this forum. Cheers.
As a general thing, I don’t mind when that happens, and I wasn’t necessarily criticizing you.
My daughter asked me about bail. That got me started on Amendment VI: “In all criminal prosecutions, the accused shall enjoy the right to a speedy and public trial,” and Amendment VIII: “Excessive bail shall not be required...”
Those constitutional provisions are violated hundreds or thousands of times every day. People are asked for excessive bail, cannot pay it, and spend years in jail waiting for trial, innocent or not.
Another national shame is that we don’t protect prisoners from each other. It’s not unusual for prisoners to be killed, maimed, or infected with AIDS while confined.
Meanwhile, the forces of evil keep our attention focused on the efforts of police officers to stay alive while engaged in close-quarters combat with soulless, remorseless savages.
What’s wrong with that picture?
