Deep State was trying to give us Jeb Bush vs Hillary Clinton and failed on the former. Even after Trump got the nomination they were patting themselves on the back over Clinton's sure thing. The pure shock when that didn't pan out turned to fury and now desperation.

But it wasn't so much Deep State that put the skids under Bernie as it was Hillary's opportunity to essentially purchase the DNC and control the nomination process. Control of the superdelegates gave her a minimum 15% advantage before a single vote or caucus was made. In American politics 15% is a landslide. So when Bernie fans mutter darkly that "the fix was in" they are absolutely correct. Whether he would have defeated Trump is academic at this point, but it was a contest that cut Deep State completely out and they were facing a shadow government status under the 0bama team's influence, which is essentially their current status. It isn't a strong position now that the mask is being torn off.
