Not that I don’t like the idea of dead ISIS types, but what the heck are American Armed Forces doing there, and when did Congress authorized this?
Why is American blood and treasure being spent for the idiots in Syria?

Because, as I think Rumsfeld said that we better kill them over there, before they come over here.

They are a threat to the US.

"Why is American blood and treasure being spent for the idiots in Syria?"

We have to go where the terrorists are. No one gives a rat's patoot about Syrians, but that's where the enemy is. Obama's "strategy" was sorta like that old joke about the drunk looking for his keys under the street light. "I lost them up that alley, but the light's better here..."

Here's the reality of 4th Gen warfare. You keep killing the Believers, until no one dares to admit membership. There are no uniforms to indicate your enemy when you are combating terror, there are no borders that can be crossed for sanctuary. If the foreign government tries to provide cover, they are a terrorist supporter. It's why Turkey and the Erdoğan government, with Russian support, is flailing. He wants to be the Sultan of a new Ottoman empire and Trump, in effect, said, "Ah, no...". This is the New Reality, the one Obama denied. We kill them there, instead of here.

It's a cesspool, and we can either pump it out, now, or wait, and get dirty later.
