N. Korea slams U.S. over growing talk of 'possible' naval blockade....

SEOUL, Dec. 8 (Yonhap) -- North Korea lashed out at the United States on Friday over the possible use of a naval blockade in the wake of its recent missile provocation, warning it would be tantamount to "war acts."

The condemnation came after U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson recently mentioned the "right to interdict maritime traffic transporting goods" to and from the North after its Nov. 29 test of an intercontinental ballistic missile capable of striking the anywhere on the U.S. mainland.

"The U.S. moves for sea blockade can never be tolerated as they constitute a wanton violation of the sovereignty and dignity of an independent state," the North's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

"The U.S. is trying to openly take the measure of sea blockade against the DPRK and strangle its economy in peace time. This is part of its scheme to escalate political and economic blockade against the DPRK which has lasted for decades," it added.

I do not believe the US ever declared war on North Korea. The old UN police action thing. That may make the legalities a little dicey. But I understand everyone’s thought process on a naval blockade.

>>So their threatening to “annihilate” us is peachy, but the possibility that we may conduct a preemptive blockade is an “act of war”. Roger that.<<

Thank you. You burned the masters of obfuscation real good with this clear statement of the reality of the situation.

>>OK, hotshot, WHY did the put the games in a potential war zone?<<

Don’t know, but I don’t think bert had any say in the matter, so why are you hassling him about it?

I spent a year there with the 2 ID. We weren’t trusting of them at all. Otoh, rounds weren’t flying, either, except in an occasional rare incident.

We are currently under an Armistice signed by the various parties to that war.

(Technically, Congress never declared war on Korea. Bad on them on everything since WW2, especially Vietnam, Afghanistan & Iraq)

>>How did it come to this?<<

I believe it came to this through the ineptitude and or chicanery of past U.S. administrations particularly, those of the Peanut Man, the Bushes, Clinton, and the Kenyan Fraud.

>>The US (or UN) Naval Blockade is a good idea, and a useful tool. We ARE at WAR with North Korea, and have been, since June 25, 1950. Get USED to it.<<

One obvious and advantageous thing about a blockade is that no one gets hurt until the shooting starts. And whoever fires first has then triggered a hot war. If the Norks do that, it will mean the end of Rocket Man, his entire military, and his already dysfunctional economy. Time for a blockade.

There is now the very real potential of MANY Americans dying and a city completely destroyed by a 2 cent POS dictator.

It depends on which city, before I get all drove-up about it.

FatBoy is using the visiting UN officials photo ops as propaganda to his citizens as usual. He loves to have “officials” visit when he needs to convince his people how significant he is to the world.......which is why so few will go there...it's a fruitless endeavor every time.

Blockades work great on island nations. Not so great with nations sharing a border with the guy who’s arm is up your behind working the mouth.
