Those brown bags are omnipresent on New England sidewalks during October. They sell them in bundles at all the supermarkets here.

Those brown bags are made and sold specifically for yard waste. Many cities have a yard waste service and pick these up. (That’s why they are piled near the curb in the photo).

Because the bag is recyclable paper, the yard waste service can just toss them/dump them into a pile without the extra labor of dumping the clippings/leaves out of the bag.

We use them in Nebraska. Best prices are when on sale at Menards. We use about 30 each fall, just for our one huge maple.
