I still use Foxpro for Windows every day for all the massive databases I work on, and it works fantastic for me (while also learning new languages, website programming, etc.)

The only problem was precisely the fact that Microsoft bought it to reduce competition and in order to quit update versions so as to phase it out in favor of other products. MS has a history of being anti-technology that way.

But that's the nice thing about good solid software, that it will just keep running stably.

This problem co-worker made a FoxPro db to track his personal investments, ran it on Windows XP and plugged it into the network even though it was off of Active Directly. Kept showing up on my anti-virus console.

The most the boss could do was tell him to unplug it from the network.
