What I don’t get is why ANYONE on FR is taking CNN as straight news.
It’s slanted, opinion dressed up as fact, etcetc. CNN is even worse than most of the others, and they are all Fake News.

His response sounds very rehearsed. If so, it shows that he came into the hearing wanting and planning to defend Strzok and Comey.

While Wray was not in charge of the FBI when Comey was there, it is clear he is unprepared to admit that not draining the part of the swamp he is now in charge of, and failing to see he needs to, will most of all continue to leave the agency tainted by politically biased people within it who have made decisions already in accord with their bias.
He needs to be like a new police commissioner handed a force with clearly too many bad apples in it. It is those bad apples, not criticism of them, that is tainting the FBI’s reputation. Trump needs to be clear to Wray - either you clean house or someone else will be in charge.

I like Trump but he has made some terribly bad choices for some key positions, and this is one of them. This guy even looks like a slime ball. Then we have Sessions who, without a doubt, has to be the worst AG when it comes to representing our President. Next up is Tillerson. I will stop there for now.
My take, as unpopular as it might be is that Wray is waiting for IG to light the fuse or call out the politically motivated actions. Wray is Trump’s guy, and if he comes in guns blazing to attempt to shut down the independent counsel, he will get labelled as a Trump stooge, and be viewed as biased.
the IC investigation is in a slow burn.....whats the issue with waiting a few more weeks to average the IG report / findings?

It *is* best for the IG to wait a few weeks to pull the pin, when more voters are paying attention. Obama et. al. fleeing the country Dec. 31 would be the best New Years ever!
Wray was put in to ferret out and clean the swamp - if he takes the recent hints and does the right thing, he will be bolstered by Trump...if not, he is just filling the seat for a while. Has to hurt to have to air out the dirty laundry of such and organization if you are in charge of it but with trump in the WH, it is a prime time to do such with expectations that the agency will be boosted and the only casualties will be the bad guys - which will increase the morale of the day-to-day grinders.
