Part of me thinks, that the Democrats want Moore to win.
They think Moore in the Senate would provide a lot of material for them to try to pin against the GOP.
Could be. But let’s get Moore elected first and go from there.

If they try to take out Moore, many in the senate

No. They don’t want him to win. They did in Franken and Conyers so that they could vote to unseat Moore if he wins. The question is why they did it now, rather than waiting to see if Moore actually won. I suspect they did it because they knew that Franken and Conyers would be replaced by liberal Democrats anyway. There may be some advantages to seniority for the new MN appointee, though I don’t know. Certainly, he would have an advantage over the Dem if Moore loses, but I don’t know if he’d have an advantage over Moore since he won’t be from the same party in any event.
