Actually, yes. And we still love her dearly. She is, bar none, the most clear headed, analytical, liberal Ive ever met.
Nevertheless, to a degree, she has succumbed to the media onslaught brought against Trump.
I strongly suspect her position was an outlier, motivated by an unconscious attempt to reduce a paradigm-anxiety by aligning her judgement with the mainstream media narrative.
I also suspect my wife and my high regard for Trump, given this friends regard for our opinions, gives her pause such that she would prefer ignore that particular incongruity in her life.
She is, by no means, a true believer, and her opposition to Trump has manifest more as an nebulous distaste, than a full-throated, passionate, hatred.
I think it might be worth it - gonna find out ...
Were not socializing with Trump haters anymore. Life is easier.
Sigh.... stirring the pot is my calling.
If theyll keep their mouths shut, I have no qualm with liberals. But invariably, the kool aid drinkers are compelled to pontificate from their vast stores of wisdom, at which point sauce for the goose...etc, comes into play.
We have a Trump hating neighbor who had to drive past our Trump for President sign last year. I notice that people who have signs out saying theyre against Hate are democrats.
I was under strict orders from my mom to not get into politics with my moonbat aunt and snowflake cousin at the family Christmas last year.
My mom is a Trumist, but wanted the party to remain civil. I gave her a hard time and asked why they had rights and I didn’t.
I finally told her that I wouldn’t start anything, but I sure would finish it.
They remained very quiet.
Then, Moonbat and Snowflake pasted a photo of them at the Women’s March in their vulgar pink hats. The caption said something about standing up for their rights.
My wife then shot a picture of me with three of my kids. We had one pistol, three AR-15’s, two MAGA hats, One NRA hat, one Hillary for Prison T-shirt, one Black Guns Matter T-shirt and a picture of Ronald Reagan in the background. We captioned it “we’re proud to stand for our rights too.” We didn’t post it but sent it to my mom. A few hours later, my son was on Facebook and said “Oh no. It’s on.” My mom posted it. My aunt and cousin were pretty steamed, apparently that we had rights too or something.
Can’t wait for Christmas.
I think that’s a pretty good summation. After WWII, people realized the potential threat from overseas.
We often trash Europe for forgetting what took place in the war. To be honest, our populace has become removed from it also.
I’m glad Trump came from that generational mindset.
Folks do like, love him. Good call.
