I’d agree with that with on caveat: Wilbeforce repented and sought forgiveness. Moore has done neither, at least publicly. That may be because the accusations are not true, but it is a difference.

Well why throw your pearls before the swine? And forgiveness? Certainly Wilberforce sought forgiveness from the Lord for whatever deeds he had done.I’m not sure it was necessary for him to recount to every man (or woman) his failures and indeed I doubt he did so. While someone might look at the denial of alleged moral failures committed/omitted over 30 years ago as (even if true) problematic I am concerned now with his moral standing and his standing on key conservative values that are under siege.
