It is my personal belief that Franken has quietly told his caucus that he is resigning. Therefore, it is totally safe for these brave politicians to - just now - come out and say Franken should resign.
Look, I don’t care about Franken, but just like the MeToo squad, everyone becomes a brave heroine one the trail has been paved over with rock-solid concrete. A complete joke and yet more political shenanigans designed to bamboozle the weak and gullible among us.
One could give him the benefit of the doubt on those “butt squeezing photo ops” he has been accused of. But where he crossed the line is grabbing women by the breasts while they sleep and taking pictures of it. That has to be sexual assault. And royally stupid. And we don’t want anyone who is either royally stupid or abusive of women in the Senate.
“OK How is he replaced?
Appointment or special election?”
I believe it’s both.
There is a difference, which is Franken did these deeds as a sitting Senator.
I am guessing Al baby will retire to spend more time with his family. And maybe get a gig on MSNBC.
One, so far.
Which appears to show that they are concerned about the appearance of unfair partisanship, which would give the lyin' media one more club to swing at them.
Are they black, because if he passes over Mullah Keith for a white woman.....
It is curious isn’t it? But then, how did a guy with the middle name, “Hussein” get elected twice, when just seven years earlier 3,000 people were slaughtered by nineteen “Husseins”?
I get the feeling they didn’t really like him much.
He sure ain't brown! HINO, maybe.
The Democrats are desperate to use weaponized sexual harassment claims against Moore and Trump and all these Democrats getting accused of sexual harassment keep getting in the way.
Your analysis: OUT-FREAKIN’-STANDING!!
This is what I tried to communicate in my post but not as eloquently and to the point as you. Nice work and I believe you are spot on.
True, some of them (not the photo with Weeden).
Which means they could have a formal ethics investigation of Franken if they want to. And, they could have one of Moore, although the case would be flawed, because as you say, anything he MAY have done occurred before he entered (hope, hope) the Senate.
But, I don’t think that this difference is what’s driving the calls for Franken’s resignation.
I’m from Minnesota, born and bred, and I’ve never felt more embarrassment than the election of this carpetbagger. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.
The silver lining is that I do think Mark Dayton is STOOOOOPID enough to appoint Keith Ellison to the Senate.
They’re only doing it so they can say, “See ... we made him resign, but the GOP keep supporting Moore. We’re better than they are. We have morals.”
How bad is that?
