The CFPB should not exist.
It was created to be Elizabeth Warren’s personal bureaucratic dictatorship. It is, in its very construction, a rogue agency.
Congress should repeal the portion of Dodd-Frank that created it, if it does not have the gonads to do what it really should - repeal Dodd-Frank altogether.
Redirect all the money to GOP causes until the Dems squeal and then, when they inevitably do, act shocked and shut the whole thing down. Beat them at their own game.
Every damned penny of US taxpayer money needs to be clawed back and put back where it belongs.
And TEA party groups operate on a shoestring and a prayer.
If this sort of thing isn’t seriously cleaned up, we’re done as a country.

So where is the accountability?
A complete audit needs to be done of all of this agency’s activities from top to bottom.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)is an independent unit located inside and funded by the United States Federal Reserve, with interim affiliation with the U.S. Treasury Department. Because Congress created the CFPB as part of the Dodd-Frank financial reforms of 2010, the whole law – or, at least the provisions authorizing the consumer protection bureau – must be struck down or the entire CFPB needs to be dismantled.
The whole CFPB is a slush fund.
