Lint to Ventura Fire Dispatch.

Yes. Should cross 33 soon. Already into parts of downtown Ventura.
BUMP!
It’s been 20 years since I was there, but of all the towns on the California coast, Ventura is my favorite. Such a cool town, it’s very sad that this is happening.
These things are always so heartbreaking. People 30 miles away from the fires in Sonoma county were finding pages from children’s book, old photos. Can you imagine how fast a fire bruns, opens a home, and creates an updraft to lift something out of a burning structure to carry it that far?
It has crossed Foothill Rd south into Ventura.
It sounds like they’re trying to get all the firefighting resources into Ventura now to save the town!
Vista Del Mar hospital strucure fire report. Hospital is evacuated already.
It is pretty amazing how calm they are. Although you can tell it is getting a little more tense in their voices. I can’t imagine with 60 mph winds blowing the embers downhill (towards Ventura) and the spot fires in front of the main - that’s got to be REAL challenging.
“I’ll take what you can give me Fred. And the priority is Foothill and Court - about a mile long on both sides of Foothill.”

20 strike teams sent into Ventura city to go after spot fires in the city now.
God Bless all those firefighters and emergency response teams. They sound like they are fully in the $hit.
Listening to them and amazed by their calm and courage.

I keep thinking of the song “Ventura Highway” by America.
It is pretty surreal and sad to have the song playing with the fire calls coming in at the same time from the other site.
Prayers for all those involved.

“Ventura Highway in the sunshine
Where the days are longer
The nights are stronger than moonshine
You’re gonna go I know....”
Thanks for posting.

Absolutely devastating.
Prayers for those poor people.
“We’ve got at least 50 structure fires up here - we can use anything we can.”
Some firetrucks are blocking the roads - so they have to coordinate how they get places. Plus - giving directions to other city’s trucks in what I’m guessing can be pretty complicated roads.
Interesting call just now, one guy is asking for a “face to face” with another guy. Guy number 2 sounds out-of-breath and stressed: “I’m fully involved right now....give me 10 minutes.”
