Automated real-time transcription is a thing nowadays.
Heck, we could easily have automated real-time sign-language animation.
That’s my point; why have a real live person doing the ASL, when you can have it done as closed captioning?
*Disclaimer - I am not deaf, but am a bit hard of hearing, and I use the CC on my TV all the time. Turning it off just for sporting events (as the words always tend to cover up the action).
