“While I personally want to believe these are acts of posturing, the less blinded I become the more it seems a new war on the Korean peninsula is likely. Prayers for their people and our troops.”
Actually, I hope they are meaningful preparations for war. For more than a half-century, we have, by reason of electing a feckless list of presidents, dropped this nuclear turd on President Trump’s plate. He really has no options. He cannot, in good conscience, let NK continue on the course it has set. He cannot allow NK to set up multiple ICBM’s addressed to cities in the United States. It would be dereliction of duty (something all the presidents before him should have considered, but didn’t) not to have a permanent solution which has as it’s cornerstone, no nukes and no missiles in NK, period!
The military’s operational readiness is never in doubt - a few tweaks per theater and all will be set. I agree with the idea that POTUS cannot let the present course of NK continue; I fear for a lot of people in this situation - having been to SK several times in the past my concerns are somewhat personal as well.
