The micro-quake occurred about 1.7 miles northeast of the Punggye-ri nuclear site in the country's northeastern province of North Hamgyong, the Korea Meteorological Administration said on its website.
"The quake is a natural one and it is believed to have occurred in the aftermath of the sixth nuclear test", it said.
Minor tremors have been detected at the site since the North carried out its sixth and most powerful nuclear test underground in September, damaging geological structures in the area.
An official of the Korea Meteorological Administration said: "Kilju is a rocky area where natural earthquakes normally do not occur.
“However, the quake could have been caused by geological changes created from the recent nuclear explosion.“
Local reports claim it is one of at least four tremors that have been felt in the area since a “hydrogen bomb” test on September 3.
North Korea's nuclear test site may be suffering from the geological condition "Tired Mountain Syndrome" following the latest atomic blast, but it is unlikely to be abandoned, according to the respected 38 North website.
The quake occurred at 7.45am local time.

I understand all that. But we had a lot of options since 1953, and the choice of virtually all of our “limp dick” Presidents was to kick this can down the road some more. Everybody wants to put all the blame on Obola, and surely he deserves his chunk of it, but ALL of them, have, by their inaction, hucked this steaming turd onto President Trump’s plate without question. The “immobile” can has come to rest on his desk. He isn’t left with any options.
I can easily agree with your position......they’ve kicked this can down the road until there’s precious little room to contain it.....and the ball is in Trumps court.
I do believe assassinations are in order in extreme cases...Fat Boy being one of them and his cohorts. They’re certainly good at doing just that to each other so there’s no love lost even among themselves. What’s a few more then.....
And I know it’s way too late, but what morons in SK decided that it was a “good idea” to build Seoul 35 miles from the border with NK? At least Pyongyang is a hundred of miles north of the 38th Parallel.
Houses and a school near his nuclear base at Punggye-ri were brought down in the last quake.. when his tests caused a 6.3 magnitude earthquake in North Hamgyong Province.

Tell the Left that the NORK’s tests will break the earth apart and they’ll be clamoring for Trump to wipe them out....
