The State of Texas is seeking the death penalty for the 19-year-old accused of fatally shooting a Texas Tech University Police officer in early October. According to court documents, Hollis Daniels is charged with Capital Murder in the fatal shooting of TTUPD Officer Floyd East Jr. The 137th District Court has determined Daniels is indigent and he has been appointed a public defender to represent him.

The background on this is sonny boy was a freshman at Texas Tech and a druggie who was off his wacko meds. Mama called the cops to ask for a welfare check because he was suicidal and may be armed. The campus cops went to his dorm and roommate said he was weirded out and there's illegals drugs. Cops find him on campus. Either he was on foot evading arrest or in his BMW. As the cops are taking him into the station, he's videoed arrogantly asking them, "What's up?" Apparently he's not searched and pulls his gun killing one of the cops.

He deserves to fry but he’ll probably be declared incompetent and sent to the loony bin.
There's a video from long ago of a guy who was arrested for shooting a cop.The cop left him alone in the interrogation room for a few minutes during which time he took a sip of water and then calmly took a canon out of his waistband and blew his brains out.
I'm no expert but the thing looked real to me...not staged or photoshopped or anything.

I’d argue lack of capacity coupled with sorry police work if I had to defend him. Probably not enough to get him off, but it might be enough to block the death penalty.
