A Florida police officer was taking his 14-year-old child to school in March 2016 when he spotted a reckless driver.
Though he wasnt on duty, the undercover Jacksonville, Fla. officer tried to pull over Kevin Rojas, who was then 19, the Associated Press reports.
Thats when Rojas got out of his white Cadillac and started shooting at the officer, police said. The officer was sporting a ballistic vest that said police on it at the time, WLTV reports.
Rojas shots missed the officers son, AP reports, but ended up hitting the officer three times, according to police. The officer shot back, but Rojas fled the scene by stealing another vehicle, and then barricaded himself in a house. Other officers pursued him, and shot Rojas three times before he was apprehended.

This little twirp was driving a white cadillac?! Clearly a white collar professional. ~sarc
I brought a little gift for you, the officer told Rojas, according to Action News Jax. You will need it where you are going.
Thats funny right there.

Rape in prison is still rape.
It should not be tolerated, let alone encouraged.
Sorry, my Give-A-Damn is in the shop. In principle I agree. But my real world head says screw this miscreant.
L
Dreamer?
A professional car thief, perhaps.
Other officers pursued him, and shot Rojas three times before he was apprehended.
Three hits in both directions and both survived.
I wonder what caliber pistols and ammo type they were all using.
it’s not funny, it’s twisted like many cops can be
People tend to take being shot at personally. Even more so when one of their kids is sitting right next to them.
Moral: Dont shoot at people unless youre legally justified in doing so. If you do theres a very good chance youll end up in prison with a size 10 bung hole.
Besides, this happened in California. The Judge will probably sentence this creep to time served and then let him out the back door so ICE cant get him.
You know, because of Trump.
L
Actually, it was in Florida.
When a Judge says in court, “If you are in front of me again, bring a tooth brush”, it has nothing to do with dental hygiene, and everything to do with wanting to clean one’s mouth. A toothbrush can always come from family or commissary. Same thing.
slight edit Lurker: (if)Besides, this happened in California. It happened in Jacksonville Fl. The POS also had a history.
We are having a string of car jackings here along with a lot of shootings. I frankly howled at the cop’s antics.
My mistake. Thanks for the correction.
L
Carjacking is back on the menu here in Chicago. Been a couple dozen over the last few months. Contrary to popular belief CCW is legal here. Im waiting for a couple of perps to catch bullets from honest citizens.
L
No it’s not the same at all. A prisoner will brush his teeth no matter what. Whether he gets criminally assaulted and raped is a taunt, a threat from a cop who is an immature assh8le who should not be on any force.
Grow a beard boy!...if you can!
Undocumented re-possessor?
Three hits in both directions and both survived.
The officer had body armor on.
