When people wonder why there aren’t more black governors, or senators, etc. the reason is people like John Conyers. People who’ve been in Congress since before the glaciers receded and who have blocked anybody else from that rung on the ladder which leads upward. Imagine if instead of one guy for half a century plus there were seven or eight people each serving six or eight years and then moving on to something else.

No, the reason is black voters who keep voting for him. Conyers is simply the result of black culture, just like Mugabe in Zimbabwe or Zuma in SA.
