The GDP of Iran is about the same as the GDP of Alabama. The population of Iran is 81.5 million, Alabama's population is 4.8 million.
The noise they make far exceeds their capabilities.

Persia chose the peacock as a symbol for a reason.

They have been threatening deployments to the Caribbean for years and they have yet to get past the Horn of Africa.
To: blam
Yep - I bet they’d have trouble recovering if one of their ships had an “accident”....

They have been threatening deployments to the Caribbean for years and they have yet to get past the Horn of Africa. They'd probably have to fight a brutal battle with the evenly matched pirates in rubber dinghies to get further south. :)

They would have to have more crew than needed to cover for the 5 times per day prayers and all of the foot washing prior to prayers or stop operations during those prayer times. Also they should be easy to detect due to the ships loud speakers blaring out the call to prayers during those times.

when did the monroe doctrine die? President Barack Obama's Secretary of State John Kerry told the Organization of American States in November 2013 that 'era of the Monroe Doctrine is over.' Several commentators have noted that Kerry's call for a mutual partnership with the other countries in the Americas is more in keeping with Monroe's intentions than the policies enacted after his death.
