In our family we have always claimed with pride, tribal heritage; in the older ones there are traces in their faces, and we can point to the ancestor where it entered the family a few generations back. But there isn’t enough left in our blood to show up in the Ancestry DNA test, and having blue eyes and freckles, it would never occur to us to claim we had been damaged by racial discrimination, which is what you do when you ask for an Affirmative Action preference.

Warren had called it a “racial slur.” Sanders said, “That’s ridiculous,” before noting that it is never appropriate for anyone to use a racial slur, and she does not believe Trump’s use of “Pocahontas” was intended for that purpose. Sanders declared, once again forcefully, that Warren was the offensive one, saying, “Senator Warren was very offensive when she lied about some things specifically to advance her career and I don’t understand why no one’s asking about that question and why that isn’t constantly covered.”
Warren claimed she had Native American heritage on her Harvard application. The claim is completely unfounded.

My father had 1/16 German blood in him and the rest Cherokee. He used to tell me about going into bars and denied drinks because they didn’t serve Indians. I always had people telling me I should apply for benefits because I “was entitled”. I always told them that I was never denied any opportunities so I didn’t feel entitled. Neither did my cousins. So it is insulting to me for Warren to claim Cherokee to further her ambitions.
I preferred it when she was referred to as "Faux"cahontas. She is a fake and that name said it all.
