Fracking fluid goes through the aquifers, contaminating drinking water with chemicals, many of which are cancerous. Fracking can lead to local drinking water becoming undrinkable and even flammable. Recent research has found further evidence that fracking is causing earthquakes.

Wow ... they held off until the fourth paragraph, but when they started lying they sure made up for lost time.

The quakes aren’t caused by fracking itself, but apparently by the practice of injecting the wastewater into well in the ground. The water pressure can trigger movement of fault lines.

A similar phonomenon happens behind the Hoover Dam, in which the immense weight of Lake Mead puts pressure on the rock below, causing numerous small quakes.
