I notice one important word is missing from the title...
“Illegal”
I noticed the same word—”illegal”—missing. They wouldn’t have to live in such a high state of alert if they left the U.S. and then tried to come here legally. But if they want to break our laws, let them sweat each day and then hopefully get caught and returned to wherever they came from.
The writer, a leftist from what I’ve read of her’s previously, uses and mixes up “undocumented” (the most), “illegal” once in a while, “immigrant” (as those these are all legal immigrants, etc.
The writing is extremely biased and ICE is turned into the Gestapo. Just because Obama refused to obey and enforce the laws of this country doesn’t mean the new president has to follow his lead.
Illegal immigration is a serious and tender problem that needs some really hard thinking about how to address that issue. Throwing someone who is harmless out and leaving their family behind is not the answer unless that person is a criminal and a threat to society.
But giving them lots of legal rights equal to those of a US citizen is not fair to those citizens nor to those immigrants who came into our country the legal way (often after many years of waiting).
You can’t just cut into the line whenever you want.
How we are going to address this is going to be one of the hardest problems of our times domestically.
This is doubtful, however, as Hillsborough County hasn't partnered with ICE in a 287(g) agreement, as has Pasco County to the north. According to an article in the local press recently, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, newly appointed, stated his office had NO PLANS to do so. Pinellas County officials however have said they ARE interested.
It's time for U.S. citizens and property owners in sanctuary Hillsborough County to contact their state representative and demand to know why no 287(g) partnership with ICE is being contemplated for Hillsborough County.
Enough is enough. Illegals in Tampa, FL are smug in the knowledge they can continue to blatantly disregard our laws at an alarming rate, while their sheriff deputy friends continue to look the other way.
Sickening, this aiding and abetting of illegality by a local law enforcement agency.
They are changing the use of the language to get us used to the new world order. There are no "illegal immigrants" anymore. Just "undocumented immigrants" or "immigrants" or "migrants". Anything so as not to highlight the fact that these people are in the US ILLEGALLY!!!
The next step is to make it a crime to utter the phrase "illegal immigrant". The LGBTQRSTXYZ lobby is already hard at work trying to make the use of certain pronouns illegal with the full force of the law coming down on you if you say them. Wait a minute...
