All this will do is increase auto accidents, work-place accidents, the crime rate, bring in drug addicts, etc.

The democrats want to buy the election using the extra $650 million in anticipated taxes. Free College and free pre-K for all is in the works..

Has all of those increases occurred in states that have legalized marijuana?

Why is pot a pertinent issue for NJ right now? Murphy has already said he’s going to increase taxes to fund the welfare/statist state. NJ is going to be so blue it’s going to turn black like Wesley Snipes.

Oh joy! with all the problems New Jersey has you’d think that would be the last thing they’d consider.

I am constantly amazed that the “conservatives” on FR can read about the history of prohibition and the evils it visited on this country and then rail against legalizing marijuana.

The greatest cause of drug-related deaths in the US is tobacco. Followed by alcohol. There is enough stigma associated with alcoholism that deaths from this cause are probably seriously underreported. ALL OTHER drugs combined are a single digit percentage of the total. A very distant third place.

We already know better than to prohibit alcohol, but can not seem to learn the lesson and apply it to other drugs.

Now I do not believe for a second the “no marijuana deaths” claim, but the figure is much lower than for any other drug. The primary cause of marijuana related deaths is cartel violence, which is an artifact of the law and not a real issue in a sane world.

Are these state-sanctioned grow operations causing the problems, or are you talking about illegal grows?

As if the state doesn’t stink enough right now.

There isn’t a sane Democrat national politician named either Murray or Murphy who is sane (Washington State, New Jersey, New York, and another state in New England).

I saw the data last year.. yes it has, but it is tough to find good data as the states that profit from it, don’t care about lives, just money.
However, I have to say I can’t be a Constitutionalist and say I am into regulating every aspect of life.

So true; this will just make more of our population ineligible for hiring. The “opium of the masses” turns out to be drugs after all...

And talk to any employer trying to hire in a legal pot state. Biggest prob: positive drug tests. Yeah, weed is legal, but no employer who wants to stay in business is going to hire a pothead. And weed-free applicants are getting harder to find.

"NJ is the ONE state that MJ can't hurt. ;) "

New Jersey is the one state that nuclear warfare or a giant space asteroid can't hurt (and I live there).

Half the residents high all the time, and a $15 minimum wage -- what can possibly go wrong?

I'm looking at moving my business to PA and I don't have any employees.
