I agree it rhymes and makes more sense but its still a yearbook at Christmas time, and a Merry Christmas poem - that still doesn't make sense.

There could be all sorts of situations I suppose where a co-ed ends up signing a year book at an odd point in time. On a coffee table at somebodies house when visitors come over or something.

Gloria Allred is guilty of fraud and so is this woman who went along with the scam.

Could have been written anytime of the year and be some sort of inside comment - as many year book autographs include - something only the two or a few people would really understand.

Could have been any person named Ray or Roy who wrote it and it was embellished (DA/date) for this situation.

It is been stated that this school's yearbook didn't come out until August. Could it be that "Ray" is an older boyfriend who went to college & signed it on his Christmas break when he returned home?
