Washington (or Trump for that matter) wasn’t standing up and saying “Presbyterianism will be the official religion of the United States” or “I will be releasing a series of approved sermons for next Sunday”.
Making note of the almighty creator establishing or proclaiming a holiday that gives thanks to that creator, not so much.
