I wanna move out of Washington.

I know I can’t afford to be retired here.

Your tagline says what many of us conservatives trapped in insanely liberal states feel daily. Like you, we’ll have to retire outside our present state of California because future taxes will destroy us. Liberals seem mentally divorced from the reality of fiscal cause and effect.

You are in a good situation then. Take the savings from your high Washinton salary, sell your high dollar Washington home and move to a lower tax lower cost state to retire. Or do like I did and move to a lower cost country, in my case Spain.

“Washington gets 75 percent from hydro.”

Yeah, electrical costs in WA are killing me, up to $150 a month if it’s a cold winter and I use gas for heating, cooking, and hot water. Yet the fools in Olympia decided some years back that hydro power is a non-renewable resource. I guess when water here is used, it’s gone forever!
