None of the women who said they went on a date with him were 16. They were all allegedly 17, 18 or 19.
When I was 18 I wanted to date a 31 year old. When I was 19, I did. (He & his girlfriend broke up and she moved back to England.)
This was in the very early 80’s in Alabama. We were not an odd couple.
The drinking age was also 19 at the time.
I’m not saying it was extremely odd, especially in 70’s and 80’s, I still think there is a legitimate creepiness to someone 30 dating a 16 or seventeen year old. But that’s me and how I felt about my daughter. I don’t think i heard anything about coercion and apparently the parents were ok with it so it should be a mute issue.
