Chris Christie refrained from saying "I told you so" when he introduced Ivanka Trump at an appearance earlier this week.
He had every right to, especially when it comes to the recent developments concerning his old rival Jeff Sessions.
During the presidential campaign last year, the governor of New Jersey and the then-Senator from Alabama were among the first Republicans to back Donald Trump who said Christie would make "a great attorney general".
Christie lost out to Sessions, who has spent the past year trying to win a place among the worst cabinet picks ever.
Sessions hadn't made it through his confirmation hearing before he made the second biggest mistake in recent political history when he assured Democratic Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota that he had had no contact with Russians during the campaign.
Franken hadn't asked him whether he had any such contacts, but Sessions offered that information anyway. When it later surfaced that Sessions had had a couple of perfunctory meetings with the Russian ambassador, Sessions went to make the biggest mistake in recent political history, recusing himself and letting a special prosecutor take over the probe.
Trump was livid over that dumb move. But it was the Donald's own dumb move that led to the debacle now dominating the headlines.
That move was to name a sitting senator to his cabinet. That put Sessions' safe seat up for grabs. Now it looks like the Democrats might grab it, cutting the GOP margin to a razor-thin 51-49.
That's because of allegations that the GOP nominee, Roy Moore, sexually harassed some teenaged women 40 years ago.
Sessions has come out against Moore, saying "I have no reason to doubt these young women."
And I have no reason to doubt Sessions should have stayed in the Senate.

I keep going back and forth on this one but I happen to agree with you. Even the simplest robbery cases at the local level take over a year to bring to court yet many here want a magic fairy dust to spray the a$$ of Justice to bring charges of a criminal magnitude never seen before in an instant.
Say hello to the age of instant gratification.
Rex the Wonder Dog would have been a better choice.
The only instant karma was in a Beatles Song.
He was a phenomenal prosecutor before he became Governor. Rooting out corruption trust me he would be awesome as Attorney General.
Give him time?
To recuse himself?
Say he won’t investigate Hillary.
Say he won’t investigate the Clinton crime family.
He is useless and part of the Washington sewer.
LOL. Yall are insane.
I wish you well.
If she prosecuted traitors and political criminals with her current attitude - SHE WOULD BE AN AWESOME AG!
Unfortunately, DC has a way of changing people and the liberties taken by a TV/media host seldom translate into a governing/government role. Think Bannon.
Hope you’re better soon. There’s no evidence that Sessions had anything you with the arrests in Saudi Arabia. The NY Times actually started the leak of information on sexual assaults in Hollywood, and I still know of no arrests. The Uranium One story only came back to life thanks to John Soloman’s reporting, despite your pals at the DoJ who were trying to keep a gag order on him. A lot of the MS-13 arrests are being done by local authorities and have nothing to do with the swamp being drained.
I’m not a negative nelly but I’m also not a false optimist. Nothing you cited leads me to believe that Sessions is making any headway on draining the swamp. In fact all his recent testimonies, and the lack of any actual arrests of anyone but Trump associates, pretty clearly indicates he’s firmly under their control. And therefore, so is Trump to a major extent. Screams of “DO SOMETHING” by the President on Twitter do not indicate that justice is being rightly served.
Christie is not qualified to be elected a dogcatcher.
What evidence??? He's been there almost a year and hasn't even started looking for evidence yet...And then it will be left up to Obama and Clinton cronies in the Justice Dept. to investigate for evidence...
Yes, Christie’s two biggest failures are (1) loving illegal aliens and (2) disrespecting the 2nd amendment. If only...
I guess I just read the tea leaves differently. Maybe its because Im on pain killers and am a bit irritable. What I know is weve got a president who was tweeting Sun Tzu quotes five years ago. I believe he and his team have a multi-faceted strategic plan that is being implemented. It would be emotionally satisfying to see Hillary frogmarched into a Federal courtroom, but that alone does little to drain the swamp. I actually believe Trump intends to be a transformational President, so I expect to see a much larger roundup of loathesome anti-American traitors and trash. Maybe Im all wet. Only time will tell.
I suspect the Dems feared the idea of Christie as AG, and rolled out that stupid “Bridge” nonsense to bloody him up in advance. Of course it ended up being a big nothing burger, just like all the other “controversies” they float.
From what I glean here and there, in order to really drop the hammer on the cabal, all the investigations into various entities (organizations and individuals) have to be completed, so all the indictments are ready at the same time.
That takes time.
BTW I hope your pain is resolved soon and no more hospital visits needed.
Maybe I am not so badly influenced since I don’t have a TV (had only about 2 years my entire adult life), and don’t believe fake news unless I have other corroboration; plus take into consideration the fact that they lie and hate Trump and all of us normals.
The infantile negativity is very weird, it verges on mental illess imho...
I read several twitter pundit types and find many of their analyses excellent.
But I listen to satellite radio more than anything else. I have a Sirius/XM subscription so I get the FoxNews feed for Hannity, Tucker, etc.
When a snowstorm is coming, I have no worries. I have firewood, candles, a generator and lots of food. I don't have to watch the 24/7 news coverage - which probably raises blood pressure quite a bit. Instead, when I am snowed in, I listen to classical music and read some good books.
I think most Freepers are negative all the time because they are consuming too much MSM media. They believe in instant gratification and assume that because we haven't had a flood of indictments yet, that nothing is getting done and that everything is wrong. Things that don't happen on their timeline is...unacceptable.
I'm glad I got off that MSM treadmill.
An embarrassment on immigration, with his own legal troubles and immensely unpopular in NJ—he wouldn’t have been a great choice.
But they shouldn’t have tossed the transition work he’d done and handed the admin over to the uniparty (GOPe, Goldman Sachs, and liberal Dems)!
I do think you’re right. I’ve been wondering about the constant drumbeat of negativity, and the only conclusion I could come to is that I don’t watch or listen to MSM. I had TV arount the Clinton impeachment, that was basically it. We’re always ready for no electricity too, as it goes out almost every winter, sometimes a week, could be more. Got the woodstove which we use all the time anyway, propane to cook with, candles, oil lamps but I can’t stand the smell of burning lamp oil. And I can play my guitar in the dark. :-)
“Why the frantic PR for lame Jeff Sessions?”
You know those stories about an opioid epidemic in America?
There you go. It boggles the mind. The evidence is overwhelming and morons here want to believe it’s some 10D game being played behind the scenes. No special counsel to investigate Obama or Hillary but we had a special counsel licktey split to investigate Trump. No evidence of a crime either. Hell, we’ve already had the FBI kicking down doors at O dark thirty in search of a crime. All public and stuff. Any damaging information leaked to the propaganda media. A soviet style ‘special counsel’ in search of ‘russian collusion’. There’s irony in them thar hills
Staggering how fast the DOJ can move when they’re searching for a crime, innit folks? Not so fast when they have a mountain of high crimes and treason sitting right in front of them.
Fair enough. So how much time do you think will be necessary? I’ve heard some say we should allow Sessions and/or Mueller literally years to operate, unquestioned by anyone, since that is how long it may take them to deliver justice. Are you willing to wait for years, too? All while Trump is under threat of impeachment?
