One doesn't have to believe either that Mueller is working for Trump, or that Sessions is actively conducting secret investigations, in order to have issues with the pessimism fully on display.

To many, it's ironic that some who find fault with far-fetched theories of secret Trump-Mueller arrangements, then turn around and embrace an equally absurd conspiracy involving multiple players.

Hover, the most glaring problem with supporting a critical, negative position is that it isn't consistent with Trump's personality, history or (known) operating style. Whether you do or do not believe Trump couldn't get another AG approved, think Trump is fearful of impeachment proceedings, or propose some other reason why Trump is frozen into inaction simply doesn't pass a reasonableness test.

Trump is a belligerent fighter; why this has to be constantly repeated is its own mystery. He's such a hot head that there are constant cries that he doesn't possess the proper kind of mental state to be in his position. In addition, he's cunning and vindictive - he takes almost everything personally.

In no known universe of what we know about Trump would he (a) simply allow himself to be out maneuvered; and (b) if he did make an initial mistake, not just work towards correcting it, but exacting vengeance when he was done.

I don't have a problem with criticism of the LS theory, but it's equally weak minded to discard everything one has seen Trump say & do to assume a counter offensive isn't (already) underway.

Actually, a very good reply. Thank you.

You may have hit upon the very thing that frustrates me so. I know Trump is a fighter...that is why I voted for him. The main thing I liked about him was his promise of Law and Order. At last, I thought to myself, those who have been breaking the law and making a mockery of the constitution will be stopped. Ted Cruz lost my support when he did not condemn those who shut down Trumps Chicago rally, and instead blamed Trump. I knew then that Cruz really did not believe the words written in the constitution. I believed that Trump DID believe them.

Unfortunately, unlike other areas of his presidency where he IS obviously fighting, I see zero evidence of him fighting for the main thing that made me want to vote for him....upholding the law. This is why I am sounding like a “defeatist”. I believe that the government...in its ENTIRETY...is completly corrupted, and that Trump’s lack of effort to fight back in these matters is that he now understands as well. He’s given up.
