This is not a matter of how society has "evolved." It is a matter of hypocrisy. Democrat politicians have been abusing (and even killing) women for decades, and the press reaction has been a collective yawn. On the other hand, no one has presented evidence that Roy Moore did anything (at least, anything out of the ordinary for a young heterosexual male looking for a potential wife), and the press enters full out attack mode.
I am reminded of the Clinton era, when so many false allegations were being levied against conservative politicians, in the words of Rush Limbaugh: The nature of the evidence is irrelevant; its the seriousness of the charge that matters.
I have no doubt that the tactic of making unfounded allegations is effective, else it would not be the Democrats' go-to tactic whenever they are down in the polls. The more voters that see through the tactic, the better. It would be nice to see an election where Democrats don't even bother trying to use fake allegations and they actually have to run on their record and agenda. If enough voters wise up, we may actually see elections like that in the future.
We're told we have to believe the woman; Linda Tripp believed Monica Lewinsky and look how Tripp was treated.
We ask why the Roy Moore accusers didn't tell anyone at the time or file a police report; Linda Tripp recorded Monica Lewinsky's phone calls to protect her and the Clintons sicced the government on Tripp for wiretapping. The Clintons illegally released Tripp's Pentagon employment application to smear her.
This shameful part of the Clinton legacy must not be forgotten, either. It's still going on today in the form of liberal boycotts; just look at what happened to Sean Hannity last week when the Left thought he believed Roy Moore.
Liberals are still out to destroy those who believe the people who stand in the way of the elite establishment.

Oh,OK Jake. You had no part in protecting Bill Clinton? (Now watch Jake smoothly transition to an attack on Roy Moore.)
The primary defense of Clinton revolved around the premise that it was his “private life” and as long as he had the right public stance on issues, that was what mattered.
No longer the case, I guess.
Most the Southern DNC seats are lost and never again won due to the death or age of incumbents dying off; even if they land this seat they will not hold it beyond 6-years but that is long enough to thwart some of Trumps plans. One less seat gives calculating senators less reason to worry about oppositon to policy and face-saving to vote party line - only one senator can dissent with a lost seat without losing a vote if this happens.
Meaningless dribble. If Tapper were serious, CNN would do a 12 hour series detailing the actions of both Bill and Hillary doing their dirty deeds.
