Correct. They are monitoring. For who? Switerland? Why would they care?

Their mission: The only independent military body on the Korean peninsula, the NNSC has reinvented its post-Cold War self as an impartial observer to the annual U.S.-South Korea military exercises that the North complains are preparation for attack and the U.S.-South Korean side says are defensive.

Through regular inspections, Swiss and Swedish officers make sure those exercises do not infringe the armistice.

The NNSC also operates an education programme, traveling to South Korean frontline units to lecture on the armistice that ended hostilities in 1953. And it is that document, not the Swedish, Swiss or U.S. capitals, from which the NNSC takes its orders.

My question remains, there are 10 guys there, 5 Swiss, 5 Swedes. Why only concern for the Swiss? As for why they care, it is an easy gig for a Swedish MajGen, I expect it is also easy duty and money for the Swiss participants. Some appearance of relevance in the world apart from that. So where is the 'beef', spell it out.
