Some thoughts:
1) IS IT TRUE OR FALSE?
His dating 3 high school girls who were 17 looks to me to be true, although the then 14 year old girl’s story looks to be fanciful.
2) IF FALSE, then of course the whole thing is a smear.
3) If true ( i.e. for the 17 year olds ) some questions arise:
A) Did they have sex? If not, what’s the problem?
B) If they did, was it LEGAL or ILLEGAL in Alabama?
If illegal, then he violated the law.
If legal, then the issue is not violation of law but morality and we ought to consider this as part of his character.
4) Finally, what has he done since? Did he keep his integrity for the past 40 years as a public figure?
If he did, then THAT is the bottom line issue for me.
