REQUEST PERMISSION TO COME ABOARD

CHARLESTOWN, Mass. (Jan. 14, 2008) The first major snowfall of the New Year blankets the USS Constitution. Despite the weather "Old Ironsides" remained open for free public tours. Multiplied Generosity
November 13, 2017
See that you also excel in this grace of giving.
2 Corinthians 8:7
Cheryl was in for a surprise as she pulled up to deliver her next pizza. Expecting to arrive at a home, she instead found herself outside a church. Cheryl confusedly carried the pepperoni pizza inside, where she was met by the pastor.
Is it fair to say life hasnt been easy for you? the pastor asked her. Cheryl agreed it hadnt. With that, he brought out two offering plates that church members had filled with money. The pastor then poured over $750 into Cheryls delivery bag as a tip! Unbeknownst to Cheryl, the pastor had asked the pizza shop to send their most financially strapped driver over. Cheryl was stunned. She could now pay some bills.
When the first Christians in Jerusalem faced poverty, it was a church that rushed to their aid. Though in need themselves, the Macedonian Christians gave sacrificially, considering it a privilege to do so (2 Cor. 8:14). Paul cited their generosity as an example for the Corinthians, and us, to follow. When we use our plenty to supply anothers need, we reflect Jesus, who gave away His riches to meet our own spiritual poverty (v. 9).
Cheryl told all her customers about the churchs kindness that day, and, following its example, donated the rest of the days tips to others in need. An act of generosity multiplied. And Christ was glorified.
Lord, You meet our needs in surprising ways sometimes. Use us to do that for others as well.
Our generosity meets needs and glorifies Jesus.
The believers in Jerusalem were suffering because of a severe famine (see Acts 11:2829), and the Macedoniansthough needy themselvesresponded with generous financial aid (2 Cor. 8:15). The Corinthians had enthusiastically offered help, but they were slack in carrying it out (8:1011; 9:13). Paul reminded them that God had blessed them abundantly so that they could be generous and share that abundance (8:1415; 9:811). He challenged them to honor their promise completely (8:612; 9:5) and quotes Psalm 112:9 to encourage their generous giving (2 Cor. 9:9).
How might God be leading you to show generosity today?

Howdy, Kathy.
I hope you didn’t have to leave the house today. Looks mighty nippy up there. A good day to stay inside all warm and toasty.
Any luck finding a dresser somewhere that will deliver?

A Warriors Blessing
May your sword be ever sharp and your arm strong.
May your eyes be keen and arrows flight true.
May your lance never break and your body endure.
May your knife be ever at hand in need and your mind ever vigilant and alert as to the enemy’s intent.
And I pray that GOD would watch over you and keep you, so that you may return home in valor,
to enjoy that which you have defended,
living out your life in peace,
and prosperity to the end of your days.

Real Men Stand for Our National Anthem!

GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!

"The Star Spangled Banner" Verse Four (Click)
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Please let me know by Freepmail if you would like to be admitted to or released from my music ping list.
