The fact is that Lenin would never have risen to power had their people had our 2A...a common thread in every despot’s rise to power.
But “we” also should respect others’ sovereignty... something which has been grandly perverted in the wake of WWII to become something else which the Founders would likely find quite disgusting (for lack of a better word at this late hour).
Yeah, I don’t know about whether the 2A would have prevented Lenin’s rise. He WAS inspired by the French Revolution, after all, and a lot of those guys, ESPECIALLY the Cordelier’s club, which arguably made even the Jacobins seem moderate by comparison, utilized a lot of the founding documents of America as their basis, which most likely included the 2A (and besides, a lot of the French Revolutionaries used shotguns to execute people while people laughed at their bleeding out).
So far as respecting others sovereignty, the fact that we got the Louisiana Purchase and created a navy would fly in the face against that idea.
