I remember when Hugh Hewitt was among those leading the parade to elect Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Tom McClintock was the choice of grassroots conservatives. But he got shoved aside by the California GOP establishment... because they really have no use for conservatives... and Arnold was an empty suit whom they could control.
