Where is the evidence that government schools work? Really....Where is it?
No studies have ever been done on so-called “good” government schools to determine how much after-schooling and private tutoring is done by the child’s family in the HOME.
By the way....homeschooling is in the MILLIONS. Private schooling is, too.
That still leave several million children to educate.
They exist to bleed the host dry.
The vast majority of the American people went to public schools. They are adequately educated, that is the proof.
Are there school systems that have problems, you bet, but in fact a majority of public school systems do work as designed.
That the vast majority of Americans went to public schools is NOT proof that they obtained their education inside the school.
It is entirely possible that the only thing the government school did was send home a very expensive curriculum that the parents and the child ( himself) followed IN THE HOME. The real learning happened doing after-schooling ( AKA homework).
You are merely assuming that so-called government schools are working. This is **impossible** to determine without carefully evaluating and measuring the knowledge acquired to due the efforts of the parents and child IN THE HOME and though the employment of private tutoring.
My anecdotal observation in my professional practice is that academically successful children ( home or institutionally schooled) are have remarkably similar study habits and home habits. Both spend about the same amount of time IN THE HOME in either homework or home study. There is one difference. The homeschooled child is far less tired.
CORRECT! Socialist-entitlement schools produce voters who are comfortable with socialism. It only took one to three generations of socialist-entitlement schooling to give the nation Woodrow Wilson and two Roosevelts.
you mean the Socialist-entitlement voters that elected President Trump, a majority of the House of Representatives, the Senate and two thirds of the state Governors is this country. That system also gave us Harding, Coolidge, Eisenhower, Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush I and Bush II and now Donald Trump.

Education, like most things, should be provided by the private sector. Poor kids could get vouchers from government, but it is likely that people would fall all over themselves to provide the means for poor kids to get a good education. Government can’t manage a 2-car funeral, let alone education or health care or just about anything else.
vouchers to go where? There are 50.7 million school students in American class rooms this year. Profit is the motivator in the private sector. Collect as much in fees as possible and provide as little in service as can be gotten away with. Much like the health insurance business is operated. Health insurance companies are free to refuse potential insurers if their actuaries determine that the odds of not making money off that individual is to hi. Can see classrooms operated by robots, because their cost can be tax deductible, and they do not need a vacation. Would not like to see education operated in the manner of Trump U.
What private sector operation would set up shop with an elementary, middle and high school in Buffalo chip Montana or Nowhere Kansas? Private schools, church supported schools have an important place in the educational system, but they are not in any position to absorb 50.7 million students.
Where there is a demand for a service, someone will supply it. Education in this country was far superior before the government got involved. Vouchers would be for the poor. Everyone else would pay for their own children’s education. Can you imagine what you could do with the money you shell out now for property taxes? The private sector provides a superior product in every category. As Milton Friedman said, where would you rather eat ... your favorite restaurant or the local public school cafeteria?
What we need in health care is less government and less insurance. If providers and consumers were primarily the ones involved, then costs would go down and access and quality would improve. Look at the areas of health care that insurance doesn’t cover (LASIK eye surgery, cosmetic surgery) and you will see how much innovation has taken place and how costs have decreased.
Who pays for the vouchers. How much competition for your educational dollar would there be in Cow Chip N. Dakota, population 485. The answer is none. What makes you think that education is the only use of property taxes. It pays for roads, bridges, fire & police departments, public health services etc. The tuition bill for my kids education came out to be considerable more that I pay in property taxes. As a matte of fact, the money I paid in property taxes each year, would only cover three months of tuition at the Parochial school they attended.Your property taxes wont go away. The private sector provides a superior product in every category when it has to provide that service to a limited clientele that can afford the price. Would not want to have to pay $27.95, plus tip for each meal like I do at my favorite restaurant each meal every day. Besides they can only seat 20 at time. Where will the other 4 thousand residents of my community eat, and how will they bear the cost to do. I get a warrantee for the products I buy, What type of warrantee will the educational “business” give me that my kid will be educated to the standard I expect for my money. The answer is none.
Competition would provide many alternatives and costs would come down. Right now taxpayers are paying through the nose to support the failing government schools. You forget the cost of providing that crappy public school lunch. If a business doesn’t provide a good product or service, it doesn’t last and another business will take its customers. You think that the “education” kids get in the public school system comes with a guarantee of quality? When government fails, it just demands more money. The money saved from eliminating the bloated government schools would be used to provide vouchers for poor children, although businesses and charities would fall over themselves to pay for education for poor kids. Even now many private schools give scholarships to poor children. Government can’t manage a 2-car funeral, let alone education or Heath care.
