Used to be. Not so much anymore.
For many the Rolling stone is primarily the magazine their parents or grandparents used to read.

Gave up my subscription back in the 70s when RS moved from SF to NYC...Could care less about NYC. Great album reviews back in the day. Then again no good rock and roll music after 1974 anyway...

Rolling Stone magazine always had that snooty too-cool-for-school attitude within its pages. Counter-culture conformism masquerading as non-conformism. They were unsuccessfully sued by Mick Jagger for name infringement some years ago if I remember correctly.

It was actually a fun read back in their tabloid days.

Who remembers those old Hunter S. Thompson articles illustrated by Ralph Steadman?

And Steadman’s Gardening Hints?

Lost their touch when they went glossy and upscale.

You can tell someone is a brain-dead liberal by the copies of Rolling Stone and ESPN:The Magazine on the coffee table.
