The Justice Department moved Monday to strip citizenship from four Somali immigrants who prosecutors say lied about being a family, and managed to defraud the Diversity Visa Lottery program that Republicans are aiming to nix.
The government says one woman, Fosia Abdi Adan, won the lottery in 2000 and then brought in two other people as her husband and children, using a fake marriage certificate.
The prosecutions come a week after the Diversity Lottery was in the news as the immigration program used by the suspect in last weeks terrorist truck attack in New York City.
The current immigration system is easily abused by fraudsters and nefarious actors, and thats certainly true of the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program, said Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Go Trump Go -- MAGA!
It would appear that diversity visas are not a strength.
WHOA! Did I read that right? Rip Van Sessions actually said something about this?
Definitely an understatement. :)
It’s pathetic this fiasco of a program was approved in the first place and it’s 27 years old.
Yep, it’s a good sign. :)
Just the tip of the tip of the diversity visa lottery iceberg.
Couldn’t agree more, this entire program has been a fraud since its beginning.
That makes it a GHW Bush thing, doesn’t it?
Lets git er done, folks!
Yes, it sure does.
That family has done more harm to America than even the Kenyan from Indonesia.
I assume immigration lawyers - sad little pricks that they are - can take this to court. This is what liberals do and want - to tie these things up in court.
There are probably thousands of Somali via fraud cases in MN.
BUMP!
Our legislators passed this as being something good for Americans?
“Fosia Abdi Adan, won the lottery in 2000 and then brought in two other people as her husband and children, using a fake marriage certificate.”
Fosia and these other grifters won the lottery; meanwhile, we’re losing our country.
