I disagree. Use the word capitalism and take pride in it. Too much running away from who and what we are.
Do not let them frame the terms of the debate. Show them who and what we are and let them see that our ideas are superior.
I agree with the other poster - we should use the term free markets.
Calling the market economy free from government interference, THE FREE MARKET ECONOMY, is not running away from anything - it is calling it exactly what it is.
The RESULTS of the free market economy is wealth, as Adam Smith titled his famous book, The Wealth of Nations. Call it “capitalism” if you want but the increase of “capital” is the results of the free market, not an accurate description of the market economy itself.
IMO, “capitalism” is another Lying Leftist label that PURPOSELY misses the mark of what the thing really is.
You already did. Do you even know who coined the term "capitalism?" That would be Karl Marx.
I'm with the other guy. We are free marketeers. We should stop using communist lingo. Capitalism has a negative connotation like as if it's all about the money money money all about the bling bla bling bla bling.
(Not that there's anything wrong with money but let's not play their game. Let's make them play OUR game. Ya folla
I use the term Free Enterprise System. Capitalism is a euphemism for the now to toxic mix of cronies, big business, and rent seekers. People
Can understand freedom easy enough. But it isnt very popular on the Free Republic so there isnt much hope for having freedom in our business affairs.
