True - but when it comes to politics the lesser of two evils can still be a lot better than the greater evil. If we insist on never going with the lesser (in politics anyway) the greater wins every time and we have 60 years or so of experience to help understand what that means for our Freedoms.

Like the Germans in the 20s-30s? Yeah, that's a great strategy.

And what could they have done that would have made it better? Don't forget there was also a lot of international intervention going on. I fail to see how that is a relevant argument to our own current situation. When the dictator-backing left will do anything to gain even the merest part of an inch, we are compliant if we will not do the same to keep them from it or to try to gain a bit for our side.
